  • Use "or" logic to reduce duplication and cover multiple device categories
  • Make use of time, sunrise & sunset, day of week, user locations, and more
  • Use duration of door open or closed status (e.g. back door open for 2 min - turn on porch light)

Actions

What happens when triggers occur and conditions are met.

  • Send custom notifications to specific user's phones. Send a reminder to your kids to close & lock the door as they come and go
  • Run multiple actions in one automation like turning on entryway lights and disarming your system when you return home
  • The more devices you have integrated with your Abode system, the more potential actions you can make use of

Conditions

These ensure that your automation only runs when you want it to.

  • Use "and" logic to ensure that each separate condition you need met for your automation to run, is
  • Make use of system mode, user locations, door/window sensor status, and more
  • Opt for no conditions if you want your automation to run every time the trigger occurs
